Who We Are
Initiatives of Media Women (IMW) is a collective of passionate and professional women working in Nepal’s media landscape. Established in 2011, IMW is a non-profit organization committed to promoting gender equity, media advocacy, and social justice through media engagement, research, training, and information dissemination. IMW brings together women professionals from the fields of print, broadcast, digital, public relations, and advertising.
Our Vision
We envision a society where gender equality is not just a principle but a lived reality. IMW aims to be a catalyst for change by giving visibility to the voices of women and marginalized communities through powerful media storytelling and public discourse. We strive to create informed communities by documenting best practices, promoting informed dialogue, and dismantling discriminatory norms and systems.
Our Mission
IMW’s mission is to use the power of media to advocate for gender justice, human rights, and sustainable development. By empowering women media professionals and amplifying their voices, IMW serves as a platform for influencing policies, raising awareness, and promoting inclusive representation. We pursue our mission through media training, impactful research, documentaries, public events, and partnerships with national and international stakeholders.
